Roofing estimate and proposal review
Before You Sign a Roof Repair or Replacement Estimate
A leak, storm concern, or aging roof can make the decision feel urgent. If a roofing visit leads to a major repair estimate or complete roof replacement proposal, Higgins Home Advocacy helps you understand the written offer before you sign or pay a deposit.
A major home decision
Understand the proposal—not just the total price
Roofing proposals can differ in written scope, materials, allowances, exclusions, payment schedules, warranty language, and responsibility for related work. Those differences can make two prices difficult to compare at a glance.
HHA reviews the documents you receive and helps organize what appears clear and what may need clarification. The roofing contractor remains responsible for evaluating the roof, determining the appropriate work, and completing it properly.
What you receive
A more organized comparison
A standard Proposal Review may include up to four contractor proposals, even when each contractor presents multiple repair or replacement options. Each written review includes a Proposal Clarity Scorecard, a public license-status check, and clear questions the homeowner may wish to ask.
Independent by design
No roofing sale attached
HHA does not sell roofs, select the contractor, or accept contractor referral fees. The goal is to make the decision easier to understand while the homeowner remains fully in control.
Common questions
Looking for a second opinion on a roofing estimate?
Can someone independently review my roofing estimate before I sign?
Yes. HHA reviews the stated scope, materials, allowances, exclusions, warranty language, payment terms, and publicly available contractor-license information. HHA does not inspect the roof or determine storm damage.
Can HHA tell me whether the estimate is a good price?
HHA can help you understand what the price includes and compare differences among contractor proposals. HHA does not set contractor prices or certify one amount as the correct market price.
